Check, update or add your name through the online portable by August 12th.
After that you will need to contact the town.

Back in February the current council passed a by-law allowing for a ballot question.
When you vote for your choices for town council you will also be asked to answer if you are in favour of moving to a ward system.
You can only answer yes or no.

Currently, when you vote in the Wasaga Beach municipal elections the town uses an At-Large system. We have five Councillor positions, and the top 5 candidates with the highest votes are elected into those positions.
In a ward system, the town will be divided into wards. This means candidates running for town council will need to choose one ward to run in. If elected, the councilor is then responsible for representing the interests of the people living in their ward.

This election is to choose the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, five Councillors and School Trustees.
Municipal government is responsible for by-laws dealing with:
zoning
roads
public parks
libraries
social services
local police and fire services
garbage removal, recycling,
public transportation.
